About The Library
General Library was established in the year 1994. M.B.A. /M.C.A. Library were established in the year 2001. A new library block was constructed and dedicated on 10th September 2002. The Libraries include Book stakes, Reading Section, Reference section, Circulation section, Periodicals section, Reprography section, Back Volumes of Journals and Internet Lab.
Vision
Library is the repository of knowledge. The Wisdom of the students and teachers are to be enhanced and equipped with information regarding the recent developments in science and humanities and research.
Mission
To serve the users by providing right information at the right time. To provide comprehensive resources and services as support for teaching, learning and research.
Objectives
- To continuously and constantly monitor the current events of research and developments.
- To provide current information relevant to the subjects so as to satisfy the needs of students and teachers.
- To equip the library with all possible sources of information.

FACILILTIES
1.OPAC - Online Public Access Catalogue
The OPAC facility is available in the library for the use of students and members of the staff. It facilitates the students and staff members to have easy access and locate the library resources.
2.NPTEL - National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning

NPTEL provides E-Learning through online Web and Video cources. There are 188 video courses and 211 web courses with course ids are available in the library.
3.PHOTOCOPYING
Two photocopying machines are available to serve the students, research scholars and staff members.
4.OPEN ACCESS SYSTEM
The library follows open access system. This system is very useful for the students to make use of the library.
5.UNIVERSITY QUESTION PAPERS FOR REFERENCE
To collect the university question papers and bind it year by year for students reference.
6.INTERNET FACILITY
Free internet access is available to all the users.
7.N-LIST FACILITY
N-LIST – National library and information services infrastructure for scholarly content.

UGC-INFLIBNET/N-LIST
The college is one of the members of UGC-INFLIBNET/N-LIST. The INFLIBNET/N-LIST facilitates access to 6000 e-journals and 98000 e-books.
SERVICES
Orientation Program
The library conducts orientation programme to the I year UG and PG students in order to guide them towards the effective utilization of library resources.
Article Alert Service
‘Article Alert Service’ is adopted to draw the attention of students and staff members to the articles, published in journals. Xerox copies of the content page of the journals are provided to the department for information.
Display of Information
Highlights of Employment News, job opportunities in dailies, notifications, issue of application, last date and other details such as civil service exams, Tamil Nadu Public Service Exams, Railways, Bank Examination and New Arrivals of Books in the library are displayed regularly on the library notice board. News regarding the events of the institution are published in news papers communicated to the concerned department with a photocopy.

AUTOMATION
The College Library is fully automated. AUTOLIB software has been installed with the following six main modules for the Library in-house operations:
- Lending of books
- Acquisition System
- Cataloguing System
- Circulation System
BOOK BANK
The College runs a Book Bank for the benefit of poor students. Standard text books and other reference books which the poor students cannot afford to buy for themselves will be made available to them in the Book Bank. Poor students are advised to make good use of them. Books lent under this scheme must be returned not later than fifteen days before the commencement of the University Examinations for the class concerned.

RULES & REGULATION
The following procedures are adopted to borrow books from the library.
1.LIBRARY TOKEN
- Each Library token will enable the borrower to take one book only
- The library token will be given to the borrower when the book is returned.
- The due date will be stamped on the slip pasted on the first page of the book borrowed.
- Extension of time will be permitted for only one time.
- If the book is not returned in due date a fine of 5/- Rupee per day will be levied from the borrower.
- The library token will be given to the borrower when the book is returned.
- The outgoing students are to return their borrower library token at the end of the respective academic year and get the clearance certificate from the Librarian.
- The Course completion certificates shall be issued, only on producing the “No Due” certificate from the Librarian.
2.LOSS OF BOOKS/ BORROWER’S TOKEN
- The loss of library books or library borrower token should be reported immediately to the Principal through the HOD in a written form.
- Duplicate token will be issued through the head of the department on payment of Rs. 50/- per token. If any book is lost, the borrower should replace another copy of the same in could condition or she will be required to pay double the cost of the published price of the book.
- All the fine amount should be paid to office and students can collect their respective bills.
3.GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE LIBRARY
- The users of the library are strictly instructed to leave all their books, note books and bags outside the library.
- Silence should be strictly observed in the library.
- Reference books are not for lending and they should not be taken out of the library.
- The open access system is followed. Students are not permitted to replace the books in the shelves after the use.
- Current periodicals and Journals will not be issued. Earlier issues of the same will be issued to the staff members and students.
- The borrowers will be held responsible for any lapse, damage and non – return of the books issued.
- Question Bank, Back Volumes and Project Notes are also available in the library for student’s reference.
- E- Resources are available in the form of e-journal, e-books and CD’S.
4.DONATIONS TO THE LIBRARY
- The library accepts donation of books from individuals, Societies and Institutions. Such donations once accepted shall be the absolute property of the college.
