MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

Teaching of Mathematics started right from the beginning of the college.

Mathematics is a sharpened language for expressing science.
In 2002 post graduate programme was introduced. Additional section I and II for UG Mathematics was started in the year 2003 and 2009 respectively.
The total strength of our Department is around 625.

 

Our department promotes quality education in Mathematics.
It is an upcoming department now engaging itself in various activities like conducting student’s seminar, Quiz programme, Mathematics Exhibition etc., It has well experienced and dedicated faculty actively engaged in teaching research activities.

 

They also render services to the student community from rural area, the growing young and aspiring students to achieve their goals. Within a short span of time it created a tradition of academic excellence and universal service.

  • To improve the quality of graduates in order to increase their ability to fit in various places in the job market.

  • To improve research activities in the department.

  • To provide training on using mathematical and statistical packages in the real life.

Programme Outcome

  • Facilitate the learners to acquire knowledge, understanding, skills, attitudes, values and academic achievements.

  • Encourage and motivate the students for higher studies in Mathematics.

  • Assist the students in preparing for Competitive Exams.

  • Students will be able to think in a critical manner.

  • Develop & Maintain Problem Solving Skills.

  • Students gain knowledge through Pure and Applied Mathematics fields.

Programme Specific Outcome

  • Students will demonstrate the understanding of the basic concepts and the notion of Mathematics

  • Students will have the ability to identify some specific methods and problem solving skills in the context of Calculus.

  • Students will demonstrate procedural fluency with polynomial expressions, algebraic functions, including basic factoring in Algebra.

  • Students will develop and apply concepts of expressions, equations and inequalities to investigate and describe relationships.

  • Group projects can help the students to deepen their knowledge, skills, understanding of issues and facilitate idea generation and creativity.
